Community service

The Community Service programme is now a well-established part of life at Shiplake. Having begun with some gardening for the elderly in Shiplake for Years 10, 11, 12 and 13, pupils are now undertaking valuable and much appreciated work in Age Concern, Oxfam and Cancer Research Charity Shops. They are visiting the elderly at Chiltern End Retirement Home and working at The Christchurch Day Centre. A Chess Club is run by our pupils at Badgemore Primary School.

Back at Shiplake many other pupils are working on recycling projects, estate management work or bringing order to the archives in the dusty attic of the Tithe Barn.
