Shiplake College

Hockey is played as the main sport in January, February and March. With the new Lower School now starting at Year 7, Hockey is being played from this age to the senior 1st team boys ,10 teams in total . The staff and boys work well together and enjoy Hockey at the College even on the coldest days of the year. Shiplake hosts midweek matches at the club grounds of Reading HC, Sonning HC and Henley HC which are no more than 5 minutes away, while at the school the astro surface and sports hall is great for skill development. The grass pitches are well maintained and used for training and House matches. Shiplake College are known for punching well above their weight in sport and Hockey is going from strength to strength due to ithe experienced coaching team. The coaching focus is on developing individual skills and looking at team tactics & game play.

The overseas tours and fixture programme can be seen on the online calendar . Our Senior side is going to Barcelona in the spring of 2011.
