Parents’ Conferences form an important part of the relationship between parents and teachers; the open conversations had at these events reflects the sincerity and honesty that is built between Shiplake College and the parents. Assistant Head (Academic Studies) Mr Paul Jones, is trialling a new way for organising bookings at the Parents’ Conferences, and details are below:
‘We are trialling a system of online booking for Parents’ Conferences. Five minute appointments can be booked online in advance with schedules produced for both parents and teachers. This will hopefully help with the smooth-running of our Parents’ Conferences, meaning that parents can speak with a greater number of teachers.
‘The Year 9 Parents’ Conference is on Tuesday 18 October (Sports Hall, 3.30-5.30pm) prior to the start of half-term. We look forward to welcoming you to this event and pupils will also be given a copy of the GCSE Options Guide to take away. In order to better manage the timing of our Parents’ Conferences, we are trialling an online Parents’ Conference Booking System. We kindly request that all Year 9 parents visit www.shiplake.parentseveningsystem.co.uk where five minute appointments with individual teachers can be booked and schedules created very easily.
