Singers Hit the High Note
MusicCo-Curricular

Keen to continue with the co-curricular pursuits, Shiplake College pupils are always trying their hand at new and exciting challenges. Robbie Rayne, Patrick Kenny and Charlie Thomas recently took part in a musical challenge, and did incredibly well! Director of Music Mr Richard Curran provides the following report on the day:

‘Three Shiplake pupils, who all play a big part in the musical life of the College, took their talents outside the school walls to attempt a challenge. The boys took part in a Music Festival in Maidenhead earlier in October, and all performed extremely well. The festival saw musicians of all different ages come together to perform in a festival of music, celebrating a range of instruments and genres. One of our peripatetic music teachers, Ms Lynne Roper, commented that ‘the adjudicator was wowed by an astonishingly talented class of 16 competitors, and ours were the only boys. The audience and adjudicator loved them. Considering their relatively young age within the group, and the considerable experience of many of the others, (one of whom has been starring in the West End recently), they were seen as very professional, and were marked accordingly.’

Congratulations to all involved!'
