Headmaster's XV Selected: December
SportCo-Curricular

It has been a busy term for fixtures; since pupils have come back from the half term break, rugby matches and hockey games have been the highlight of the week for many players. We are delighted to announce the second Headmaster’s XV of the 2016-2017 academic year. This sporting achievement recognises the fifteen pupils who have been exemplary in their sport over the previous weeks, displaying a commitment that is highly impressive.

Players from different teams and across the different sports compete for a place in the Headmaster’s XV. The Headmaster’s XV is different from other awards which are based on sporting prowess alone; this certificate takes into account the hard work and improvements that players have shown throughout the weeks. Director of Rugby Mr Sam Beckett commented: 'the individuals chosen have played and trained with an exemplary attitude at all times; they have been real team players.'

Once names have been put forward by team coaches, Director of Sport Mr Duncan Traynor finalises the decision. Mr Traynor commented: ‘I have been very impressed by the levels of hard work this half term and it was difficult to choose just one player from each team! However, our deserving winners have really impressed and all of the coaches are glad to give them the recognition they deserve. I look forward to seeing who shines when we move onto new sports in the spring term.’
