Headmaster's XV Selected
SportCo-Curricular

Half term is here and, with it, the midway point of the spring sporting season. We are delighted to announce the first Headmaster’s XV of the spring term – the third of the academic year. This sporting achievement recognises fifteen pupils who have been exemplary in their sport over the previous weeks, displaying an impressive commitment and attitude towards training and fixtures.

Players from all sports and teams compete for the award, making it a particularly difficult award to obtain. The Headmaster’s XV differs from other sporting awards, in that it is not based on sporting prowess alone; rather, the award takes into account the devotion and hard work that pupils have shown. Once names have been put forward by team coaches, the Director of Sport Mr Duncan Traynor finalises the decision. Mr Traynor commented: ‘we have a lot of teams this term, so there was a lot of tough competition for this award! It was a joint decision between all coaches and myself to choose those deserving of the recognition, who have truly thrown themselves into their chosen sport and shown unfaltering attitudes. This is a great award to celebrate those who showed enthusiasm and passion throughout this half term. Congratulations to all, and I look forward to seeing what the next half term brings!’
