Pupils Achieve Lifeguard Qualification
Co-Curricular

Shiplake College pupils were given a fantastic opportunity to become qualified lifeguards. With the unique setting of Shiplake College being right on the River Thames, swimming and water-based sports are a popular part of the College’s co-curricular activities. The pupils jumped into the training with great enthusiasm, recognising the opportunity to gain a great qualification.

Officials from NDA First Aid Training came to the College in order to conduct the workshops. The training began in the classroom, with the pupils going through the theory side of the qualification. It was then time to get in the pool and for the pupils to put the theory they had learned into practice.

Following the intensive training course, pupils had to undergo an assessment. We are delighted to say that they all passed and are now qualified lifeguards. We would like to say a massive thank you to James and Lucy from NDA First Aid Training for carrying out the training and assessing the pupils. Both James and Lucy commented on the pupils’ professionalism and how well they did throughout the whole day.
