Second Headmaster's XV Selected
Sport

At the end of term, sports coaches put forward nominations for the second Headmaster’s XV. The ‘dream team’ is selected each half term to reward pupils who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, effort and desire in their sport. A completely new set of players made the cut this time around, impressing their coaches in training and matches.

Selection is primarily based on effort, team spirit and commitment, making the team accessible to all. Such was the quality of nominations this term, the eagle-eyed amongst will notice there are actually 16 members of the Headmaster’s XV on this occasion. After all, every good team needs a good squad!

Director of Sport Mr Gaunt commented: “This was another successful half term, particularly for the U14 age group who won the Oxfordshire County Cup. The strength in depth across Year 9 was further showcased by the U14B’s phenomenal season, in which they only lost one match. Another highlight of the half term was the Friday Night Lights event, which was another success story. I look forward to the pupils continuing their good performances in different sports after Christmas.”

Congratulations to the pupils chosen this term. The concept will continue next term with selection open to netballers, footballers and hockey players.
