Catch Up With The Riverbank
Whole School

As we embark on another academic year, we are pleased to publish the latest edition of our College magazine; The Riverbank. The new publication tells the story of the second half of 2014-2015.

Published twice a year, the interactive magazine is an ideal way to explore all life has to offer at Shiplake College. The Riverbank is packed full of news, photos and videos that showcase the diverse activities and achievements of our pupils. This version is no different, with a remarkable inspection result, gripping drama productions and a valiant effort at Henley Royal Regatta standing out as particular highlights.

Reflecting on a momentous six months for Shiplake College, the Headmaster commented: ‘Another academic year has flown by, and it is strange to think that it was my eleventh at Shiplake College. I have often experienced feelings of immense pride since making the move to Henley. On the river, in the classroom, on the sports fields, in music concerts or on results days, I have frequently been inspired by the scale of our pupils’ achievements. 2015 has already proved a particularly notable year of pride and achievement.’

Mr Davies continued: ‘During our ISI inspection in the spring, we encouraged a theme of ‘show and tell’, amongst staff and pupils alike. It paid off, and we achieved a remarkable judgement of ‘excellent’ across the board. I hope the ‘show and tell’ theme is also evident in this edition of The Riverbank, as we summarise the academic, co-curricular and community life of the College. After our first digital magazine was successfully launched earlier this year, we have decided to continue along the route of electronic communication. Hundreds of parents downloaded the previous edition, and I hope, whether you decide to read it on a laptop, mobile or tablet device, you gain another enjoyable insight into the day-to-day hustle and bustle of the school.’
