Marcus Burnett, a careers advisor who represents a number of international business and hospitality universities, was invited to Shiplake to provide insight and knowledge into a potential career path for the pupils in the Upper School.
The extremely informative presentation focused on "Careers & Higher Education opportunities in international Business, Hospitality Management and Event Management”. The talk was delivered in the Eve Lecture Theatre in the John Turner Building on Wednesday 3 February 2016.
Careers advice is so useful to help to shape and inform pupil development and enable them to consider their future with the myriad of opportunities available to them today.
This was one of a series of presentations aimed at Year 12s, it was also headlined as being of interest to Year 11s, particularly if they are considering BTEC options for next year.
It is essential that our pupils know what career opportunities are available to them. It can also assist them in shaping their decisions regarding subjects that should be researched for Further Education. These interactive presentations where questions are asked, and answered, work hand in hand with the work experience that they will gain and enables them to make informed decisions about their future career paths.
