Shiplake's Jubilee Celebrations were a rather old-fashioned affair with egg-and-spoon and sack races taking centre stage on the day. A large number of boys were away racing at National Schools' Regatta but those who remained enjoyed a barbeque lunch followed by ice-cream and games on the front field. Head of History, Mr Cane-Hardy, directed the proceedings with a loud-hailer, enhancing the vintage feel of the event.
Pupils and staff wore patriotic red, white and blue to mark the event with staff outdoing pupils with themed outfits and accessories. The winner of the best-dressed prize went to Tosh Farnborough, pictured below with Karen, who outdid the rest of the school with his outfit.
To finish the day, the 1st XI played the staff cricket team.
