Historic Win at Henley Royal Regatta for Junior Women's Quadruple Scull

Henley Rowing Club's schoolgirl crew won the inaugural Junior Women’s Quadruple Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta on Sunday, with Shiplake pupil Jo Unsworth in the number three seat. The girls, who also won at Henley Women's Regatta, beat Canford School by two and a half lengths on their home stretch of water.

Headmaster Gregg Davies said, 'We're very proud of Jo and her crew. Congratulations to them all on their historic win.'

After the race Jo commented, 'I think we're the first people to scream at that pitch on the finish line. It feels great. It's good to be the first people to do it and be the first names on the records.'  GH  Head Headmaster Gregg Davies commented
