Everett House

Brendan Pavey became Housemaster of Everett House in September 2005, taking over from Graham Wells. He lives on site with his wife Sarah, their four children, Madeleine, Isabelle, Grace and Freddie, as well as their over-enthusiastic golden retriever Arthur, two rabbits and a hamster. Brendan teaches Geography and is a former Head of the Geography Department. His interests include rugby (2nd team coach) and cricket (coaches the u-15A team). Brendan gained experience of the pastoral side of school life at his previous school (Colfe’s School in SE London) where he worked as Head of Year 8 and 9 for 2 years. It was whilst there that he started taking trips to Iceland. Mr Caston has now taken over the running of this magnificent expedition and more and more pupils are looking forward to it every year.

The boarding house is purpose-built accommodation so rooms are spacious and fitted with good quality furniture. We have a pool room, 2 day rooms with TVs and a playstation, a well-equipped kitchen for the boys’ personal use and this all comes with splendid views of the river! The house has traditionally been a strong sporting house but we have demonstrated diversity recently as we won the Nielsen Trophy for performance in the Arts (an inter-house competition). We look to foster individual strengths and celebrate achievements in all areas of school life, whether academic, sporting, artistic, or just generally doing the right thing. With clear expectations of the standards we expect to achieve, we aim to run a boarding house with a happy family atmosphere where every individual has the opportunity to flourish.
