Wedding Ceremonies
The Church of St Peter and St Paul, Shiplake, where Alfred, Lord Tennyson was married in 1850, lies adjacent to Shiplake Court and is just 100 yards from the Great Hall. Couples wishing to be married in the Parish Church should contact the Reverend Paul Bradish on 0118 940 6098 or by email at revdpaulbradish@gmail.com.
If you are interested in holding a civil ceremony here at Shiplake, there are two options available. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 200 guests for the ceremony whilst the Old Library takes up to 60.
Wedding Receptions
Shiplake Court offers a unique venue for Wedding Receptions and private functions. The Great Hall, with Minstrels' Gallery, can seat up to 110 guests for formal receptions. Attached to the Great Hall is the Old Library, which can be used for drinks on arrival after the ceremony or for dancing later in the evening. The Old Library is also perfect for more intimate receptions of up to 50 guests.
Marquees can be pitched on the riverside lawn adjacent to the terrace for guests who require either a larger capacity or an outdoor venue.
