More Splash for Your Cash
RowingParents

The Shiplake College Boat Club Supporters’ Association play a very active role in the life of the Boat Club; as well as attending all rowing races and events, the parents actively raise funds for new equipment for the rowers. Recently, the aim has been to raise funds to buy a new trailer: the 'Trailer Cash' campaign. This has been no mean feat; it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication, and the SCBCSA are proud to announce that they have now managed it! Thank you to Mr David Currie, Director of Rowing, for the following report:

‘The SCBCSA have been fundraising for two years, with the focus on helping to fund a new boat trailer. They have raised funds throughout a variety of different activities, including selling Boat Club merchandise (available here), running a tea tent at rowing events, selling products at the Christmas Fayre and organising fun social events, such as the quiz nights and the Leander Club black tie dinner and auction. The funds have been slowly building and we are now in a position to purchase the new trailer, which we hope to arrive at the end of February. The Boat Club supporters have raised an absolutely whopping £7,000 for this campaign, which is just incredible.

I’m really looking forward to receiving the new trailer! It will mean we can transport the whole team to events using just one trailer, and give us all the boats we need when travelling abroad on our Easter rowing camps. Thank you to all of the parents, family members and friends who have worked so tirelessly to raise these funds. We’re really lucky to have such avid and active supporters.’
