Computer Says 'Challenge Accepted!'

Between 6th and 17th November, the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge took place across the country with over 140,000 pupils getting involved!

Bebras is an international initiative that aims to promote the growing industry of Informatics, or Computer Science. The contestants enter the competition from their respective schools during lesson or activities time, using either a computer or a mobile device.

From Shiplake College, pupils entered in the competition include Flynn Wilson, James Perry, Tejpal Grewal, James Macleod and dozens more. Below is an easy example of the type of challenge with which they will have completed:

Best in School for Shiplake go to Benjamin Hutt in the Junior category, Sam Waller in the Intermediate category, Sam Nike in the Senior category and Josh O’Hare in the Elite category. Benjamin Hutt and Sam Waller were among six other pupils to be recognised for achieving scores in the top 10% in the whole country! They will all be invited back to compete in a bonus round in March 2018.
