Another week of fixtures saw some very mixed results for the
Shiplake teams. The teams took on some local rivals including Abingdon and Pangbourne.

found themselves competing against a very strong Abingdon side. After a tense
game, time was called and the score was left at 9-0 to Abingdon. The team are
looking to use the game as valuable experience, building on their abilities for
the next match.
1st VI 1-7 Abingdon School
Suilven Wagner-Piggott led the senior team is a nail-biting
game of tennis, full of missed opportunities but with some very good tennis
being played. Abingdon proved a worthy side, ultimately winning the match.
Whilst the boys were less than enthusiastic with the clay surfaces of the
court, they were very impressed by the host’s hospitality. Connor Cummings
played particularly well, winning and drawing a set.
Cricket
In an interesting week for Shiplake cricket, the teams
worked very hard both batting and fielding, and the immense effort put into
their training is becoming very clear.
Shiplake 3rd XI – Pangbourne College
The beautiful weather had put the Shiplake team in a great
mood to tackle the game against local rivals Pangbourne. Having won the toss,
Pangbourne elected to field first and so Shiplake took to the batting posts,
scoring a fantastic 136 for 3. Pangbourne then took their turn to bat, scoring
112 for 5, meaning that Shiplake were victorious, winning by an impressive 24
