Following the exceptional Sixth Form results revealed last week, there was more pleasing news for Shiplake College this morning as Year 11 pupils received their GCSE grades.
The Headmaster, Gregg Davies, commented: ‘I am pleased to see a strong consolidation of our overall pass rate, with 95% of pupils achieving at least five A*-C grades. This success is built upon impressive performances in key curriculum areas of Science, Mathematics and English, representing another robust examination performance for the College. These dry statistics, of course, only scrape the surface of the hard work displayed by pupils and their teachers over the past two years. This work ethic will stand them in good stead as they embark upon the impending challenge of Sixth Form education.’
Many students attained an impressive record of high end grades, with Charlie Ward and Charles Bertram standing out as star performers. Darien Patel, Austin Burnand, Jack Leigh, Sebastian Roberts, Marcus Colao, Harry Emmanuel, Zach Messer and Oliver Walker were amongst a large group of students who achieved a majority of A* or A grades.
The College offers warm congratulations to pupils on their achievements, and looks forward to welcoming the new Year 12 cohort on Wednesday 2 September.
