At the start of the Summer Term, in a Whole School Assembly, the Headmaster, Mr Howe, was delighted to announce the new prefect team for the 2024-25 academic year.
The team of 17 prefects was selected from over 40 pupils who were interviewed and assessed for the role. While there will be many disappointed pupils, Mr Howe stressed that the opportunity to join the prefect team is still very much open and that those who demonstrate strong leadership qualities will be seriously considered for the role.
Additionally, Mr Howe announced the new Joint Heads and Deputy Heads of College. Congratulations to I Davenport-Thomas and Ben Stokes who have been appointed as Joint Heads of College, and to Sophie Pendlebury and James Lucking who have been appointed as Deputy Heads of College.
Speaking after the appointments, I Davenport-Thomas says:
'I'm buzzing to take up this role and the responsibilities that come with it. I cannot wait to move forwards with the school, and make my time at Shiplake memorable.'
Ben Stokes adds:
'Being given the position of Joint Head of College is an honour and a privilege which brings many benefits. I am looking forward to working with the prefect group and running new initiatives, forming new relationships, and making the most of the opportunities we have been given. I am excited to see what my final year will bring at Shiplake!'
Congratulations also to the following pupils who will make up the rest of the prefect team. We look forward to seeing everyone in action over the coming year!
