Skipwith House is at the centre of college life, housed as it is within the superb Shiplake Court. We provide a happy and inclusive atmosphere in which all of our boys can learn and flourish. Skipwith House is a day house although it is currently transitioning from a boarding house. The old boarding ethos of the house is still very much present as we endeavour to create a welcoming environment and a holistic approach to the pastoral care and academic well-being of our boys.
Skipwith House is led by the housemaster, Mr Keith Settle. Keith joined the college in 2008 as a Mathematics teacher. He has worked as resident tutor of Welsh House and has made significant contributions to the recent success and growth of the college boat club as one of the senior rowing coaches. Keith’s interests lie firmly on the river having formerly coached at Molesey Boat Club. His proudest moments have been as coach to the GB junior men’s pair at the Coupe de la Jeunesse and also coaching the winning J16 eight at the National School’s Regatta in 2011.
Keith is supported in Skipwith by Mr Richard Bradley (Assistant Housemaster) and a large team of tutors who visit the house and who take a close interest in the academic development of our boys. The house would be a lesser place without our very own matron, Miss Niki Tanner, who is on hand to help and support the boys every day of the week.
