PA COMMITTEE AND YEAR REPS

The Parents' Association exists so that a committee of like minded parents can organise social events for the entire College Community to enjoy.

The Parents' Association welcomes all parents to attend meetings and social events organised for them. Parents are automatically members of the Parents' Association when their child joins the school.

Year Reps

Our PA Year Reps are invaluable! Each year group has one or two parents as designated Year Reps (from the same or different Houses) to represent the year and are responsible for setting up parent social events within their year group such as coffee mornings and/or evenings out.

The Year Reps also liaise with the Parents' Association and Marketing Department to help promote College and PA events. Year reps often attend Parents' Association committee meetings, but it isn't a requirement to be a year rep.

The Year Reps for 2023-2024 and some of the committee members are at the bottom of this page.

We have been advised that the preferred method of parent to parent communication is via year group WhatsApp groups. We ask all Shiplake parents to complete the contact form below if they would like to give permission for the College to pass on their number to their respective year rep(s) to allow for ease of communication.

Fill out my online form.
PA Chair - Cindy Harper

This is my third year as Chair of Shiplake Parents' Association having helped previously with the committee and supported the school as a year group rep. I am mom to Harrison (left Shiplake in summer 2023) and to William (joined Year 12 in 2023).

I work in education at St Mary's University working with primary teacher trainees.  As a family we value charity work and support the London Run and Contact the Elderly.  It is an exciting time to be part of Shiplake College, please get in touch if you want to know more.

Year 7 - Lucy Carlsson

My oldest son Freddie left in 2023 and Harry is in Year 11 (Everett), and Daisy is in Year 7.

Both sons joined the school from Year 7, when we moved to Lower Shiplake. I enjoy art, renovating our house, and running around after our three children and dog. I am both the Year 7 and the Year 11 rep and on the PA committee.

Year 8 - Laura Webb

Further details about Laura will be available here soon.

Year 9 Reps - Jo Broad and Jo Whittaker

Jo Broad - I’m mum to Charlie Broad (Year 9) and a daughter Isabella, who is at Pipers Corner School… although I’m trying to persuade her to come to Shiplake for the Sixth Form!

I’m a busy mum who lives in Marlow and currently involved in a complete house renovation. I enjoy baking, making memories with family and friends and spending time with my puppy Louis.

Since my son joined Shiplake in September 2021, we have been overwhelmed by the warmth and inclusivity of the Shiplake Community!

Further details about Jo Whittaker will be available soon.

PA Co-Chair - Sarah Mullens

This is my first year as Co-Chair with Cindy Harper. Our family were new to Shiplake in September 2022, with Angus now in year 11. Since arriving back to the UK, after ten years living in the US I have enjoyed being part of the PA and we have thoroughly loved getting to know the wider school community.

I am a speech and language therapist, currently working in a primary school which I love. Our eldest is now in the first year at University.
