Years 9-10 GCSE Art Workshop
Two-Day GCSE Art Workshop – Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 July (£80 per person)
9am to 12 noon each day
For girls and boys from any school starting Years 9 or 10 in September 2026
We are delighted to offer a two-day Year 9 and 10 GCSE Art Workshop for all abilities; this will be beneficial for those about to start their GCSEs or considering GCSE Art next year. Students will focus on observational drawing skills in a variety of materials such as painting with bleach, printing and drawing to enrich their GCSE coursework.
Drawing is a fundamental part of GCSE Art. They will be taught by Keli Jiggens, Head of Art gaining techniques and skills to improve their confidence and ability in the subject. Each session will run from 9am until 12 noon with refreshments and breaks throughout the morning and students will learn at their own pace, with lots of support and encouragement. After the two days students will have an abundance of artwork to take home and add into their portfolio.
The students will be working in the Art Department which is on the top floor of the John Turner Building. It features three large classrooms, all of which benefit from natural light flooding in through numerous skylights. The inspirational space allows artists the freedom to express themselves creatively through painting, drawing, sculpting, crafting and designing. There will be opportunities for the students to work on their own independent projects and themes. The group size will be small but will create a social, relaxing environment to work alongside other GCSE students.
Included in the workshop:
- All materials and resources
- One to one support
- Detailed demonstrations
- Sketchbook and Personal Folder to take home all artwork
