ROWING CAMPS

Shiplake College offers summer training camps for novice and improving rowers. Utilising the College’s excellent facilities, the week-long camps offer expert coaching and comprehensive tuition to ensure that all participants are able to significantly develop their skills and technique.

The camps are open to boys and girls, from any school, aged 13 to 18 (ie those due to be in Years 9 to 13 from September 2019). We are pleased to announce that due to the success of our recent residential camp, both camps have a residential option. The dates of the summer camps in 2019 are as follows:

  • Week 1: Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August 2019 (residential and non-residential options)
  • Week 2: Monday 5 August to Friday 9 August 2018 (residential and non-residential options)

The Camp Information Booklet will be emailed out to all participants in June 2019.

During the camps, daily sessions will run from 10.00am. On the Friday of each week there will be some races in the afternoon. Parents are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to come and watch the races. This is a great opportunity for the rowers to demonstrate the excellent progress they will have made over the week.

The non-residential camps cost £300 for the week (or £65 per day if booking for 3 or 4 days only). The residential camp option costs £720.

For the residential camp option, participants can arrive from 5.00pm on the Sunday before the camp starts and are asked to depart by 10.00am on Saturday. A typical daily rowing programme would consist of breakfast followed by pilates/stretching prior to the day participants arriving at 10.00am. Following the end of the rowing camp itself at 4.00pm, boarders will have light activities such as swimming or rest and there will be a programme of evening events after dinner, such as local trips and activities as well as access to the swimming pool. We will also visit the world famous Leander Club for a tour and evening meal. Boarders will be accommodated in single rooms with joint washroom facilities and common areas.

To book, please complete the form below - you will be taken to PayPal to complete payment (payment can be taken by debit/credit card if no PayPal account).
