YEAR 7 (11+ ENTRY)

Boys joining the College in Year 7 join our Lower School which was opened in 2009. Years 7 and 8 can now accommodate day pupils, flexi-boarders (up to two nights a week), weekly boarders (4 nights a week Monday to Thursday) and full boarders. A different fee structure applies to Years 7 and 8.

Our 11+ entry is particularly appropriate for boys applying from maintained sector primary schools, or preparatory schools that finish after Year 6. Boys applying for places in Year 7 will be invited to attend an assessment day at the College in the January of the year of entry. This will involve short English and Mathematics tests, before participation in a variety of activities during the afternoon. At some point on the day, your son will be interviewed by a senior member of staff.

The purpose of the assessment day is to allow our experienced staff to determine whether each boy would thrive in Shiplake College’s active, educational environment. A confidential report will also be sought from each candidate’s present school.

September 2018 Entry

We have now assessed boys wishing to join our Year 7 in September 2018. Late applications will be considered after March 2018. Please make contact with the Admissions Team on 0118 970 4764 as soon as possible if you are still interested in a place in this year group.
