Location
Not long to go now until what has become one of the biggest events in our Old Viking Calendar. Saturday 8 September sees the return of our Touch Rugby Tournament, Beer Festival and Dog Show. This will be our fourth year and the event has really evolved into a real day out for the family.
Touch Rugby Tournament
If you haven't signed up to play in the Rugby tournament yet but would like to, please complete this online form. Players of all ability levels are encouraged to take part - this is very much a community event. There will be a free pint of beer or glass of prosecco for each player in the team with the most imaginative team name and pulled pork baps will be served to all players at the end of the tournament, courtesy of the Old Viking Society.
Dog Show
Not to be taken too seriously, the five categories that you can enter are:
- Loveliest Lady
- Most Handsome Chap
- Gorgeous Golden Oldie (Over 7)
- I Love my Mini Human (Child Handler Under 12)
- Dog Most Like its Owner
The categories will be expertly judged by Helen Tuthill from Holybooks, and our very own Welsh Housemaster Mr Howorth will be compering and taking us through each round. We're also introducing a dog fancy dress competition this year, with the best dressed dog receiving a voucher for Dairy Lane Dog Grooming in Henley. Members of our wonderful Parents' Association have also organised a 'Doggy Tombola' game for our younger guests to play.
Beer Festival
Beer will be once again provided by Rebellion Brewery and there will be a great selection to choose from at just £1 a pint. Panic not if beer isn't your thing as this year, for the first time we'll also be selling prosecco at £1 a glass.
For the Family
To keep our younger supporters entertained, we have a bouncy castle, giant inflatable slide and a face painter will be here too. There will be a tuck shop and a BBQ to purchase food and Bertie the Ice Cream Bike will be here selling ice creams for everyone (including some specifically for dogs!).
