During the first week of term, our Year 12 and Year 13 pupils were offered the opportunity to take part in a Careers Profiling programme. For our new joiners in Year 12, this involved a profiling test and interview, while there were follow-up interviews for our current Year 12 and 13 pupils following previous profiling in Years 10 and 12 respectively.
SPW Careers provide a careers and university education, information, advice and guidance programme which supports students to explore their career and university aspirations. It was brilliant for pupils to have a chance to have a one-on-one conversation with someone outside of the College about their future plans.
Head of Careers, Mrs Rapple Moore, said the following:
'The careers profiling that we undertake in Year 10 and Year 12 is enormously valuable to our pupils. Often, pupils are a little wary of taking the profiling and are not sure about what they really want to do. But invariably, they come out of their interviews very positively and always feedback that the advice was really useful and has helped them.
Karen and Mark at SPW Careers are both extremely knowledgeable and approachable and make sure the pupils are fully equipped to explore the career paths that best suit them. The profiling programme is a key part of our careers offering and helps prepare the pupils for the in-depth careers lessons they will have in Year 12 and 13.'
