In Monday’s Whole School Assembly, pupils and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of our KS3 readers. Deputy Head (Academic), Mr Jones, and Head of English, Mrs Brooks, recognised the commitment and enthusiasm many pupils have shown towards reading this term.
Mrs Brooks, says:
'We have a number of KS3 pupils who have already shown real commitment to their reading this term. The Shiplake College Reading Certificate celebrates those who have dedicated their time outside of lessons to reading a wide variety of books. These pupils have completed three books and have taken the time to reflect on each through a related task, demonstrating perseverance, curiosity and a genuine love of reading. We’ve seen interesting quizzes, creative book covers, and even letters being sent to the authors telling them how much they’ve enjoyed their books.’
