Shiplake College is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 9 pupils who have successfully completed their Bronze Award in the Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA) programme.
The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award, widely known as iDEA, is an internationally recognised initiative designed to equip young people with essential digital, enterprise and employability skills. Through an online platform, pupils develop knowledge and practical understanding across a wide range of topics that are highly valued in both further education and the modern workplace. At Shiplake, our Key Stage 3 pupils take part in the iDEA programme as part of their Cyber Skills curriculum. Over the course of the year, pupils work towards digital badges in a variety of areas, including Citizen, Worker, Maker and Entrepreneur. These categories ensure a well-rounded experience, encouraging pupils to think critically about digital responsibility, workplace readiness, creative problem solving and business awareness.
We are proud to announce that 54 of our Year 9 pupils have now achieved their Bronze Award. This accomplishment reflects not only their dedication and perseverance, but also their growing confidence in key digital and enterprise skills. Completing the Bronze Award requires a significant number of badges to be earned across all categories, demonstrating breadth as well as depth of learning. Most importantly, pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning. The flexible and interactive nature of iDEA allows them to explore topics at their own pace, fostering independence and curiosity; qualities that are central to a Shiplake education.
We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all pupils who have achieved their Bronze Award this year. Their hard work and enthusiasm are commendable, and we look forward to seeing many of them continue their iDEA journey towards Silver and Gold awards.
