At the end of the Spring Term, during the final Whole School Assembly, the Headmaster, Mr Howe, was delighted to announce the new Prefect team for the 2026–27 academic year.
Following a competitive and thoughtful selection process, a group of pupils has been chosen to take on these important leadership roles within the School community. The Prefect team plays a vital part in upholding Shiplake College values, supporting younger pupils, and acting as role models across academic, co‑curricular and boarding life. Mr Howe praised all pupils who put themselves forward, highlighting the maturity shown by those who applied. While only a limited number of places were available, he reaffirmed that leadership at Shiplake takes many forms and that pupils who continue to demonstrate commitment, initiative and integrity will always be recognised.
Mr Howe also announced the new Heads and Deputy Heads of College, who will lead the Prefect body and represent the pupil voice throughout the year. Congratulations to James Middlehurst and Dessie Bradley, who have been appointed Heads of College, and to Max Jobson and Mercy Milton, who will serve as Deputy Heads of College.
