Lower School Co-Curricular

On their first day at Shiplake College, the Year 7 pupils took part in the annual capsize test in the river Thames.

Every year our new Lower School starters bravely take part in the drill which has become a Shiplake tradition. Also this year, our new Headmaster, Mr Howe joined the group and was the first in line to take the test. Our school motto, Exemplum Docet, 'the example teaches' was in action as Mr Howe did not one, but two drills to show the pupils what to expect. Despite a few nerves the pupils quite literally threw themselves into the challenge and were rightly, proud of their achievements.

Head of Lower School, Mr Crisford said: "Year 7 were fantastic on their first day at Shiplake with the traditional capsize test proving to be a really challenging and memorable experience to start their time with us."
