A few weeks ago, Shiplake College launched the Lower School Prefect selection process, inviting students to apply for these important leadership roles. Applicants were asked to submit written applications outlining their personal qualities and explaining why they believed they would make excellent prefects.

Following the application stage, shortlisted candidates attended an assessment evening designed to test key skills such as communication, presentation, and public speaking. The tasks were challenging, but every student approached them with enthusiasm and determination, demonstrating impressive maturity and teamwork throughout.

Joint Heads of College Zac McConkey and Febe Fisher led the process, supported by a number of fellow senior prefects who volunteered their time to assist with assessments and deliberations. After much discussion and several meetings, the team reached their final decision.

“We were beyond impressed with the way everyone threw themselves into the tasks,” said Zac. “It was a tough decision because the standard was so high.”

Well done to to all those who took part in the process – their commitment and effort reflect the values of Shiplake College. Special thanks go to the senior prefects who helped facilitate the process and to Mr Crisford for his guidance and support throughout the process. Congratulations to the following pupils on their appointment as Lower School Prefects:
