Shiplake College’s 2024–2025 academic year has been filled with music, thanks to seven unforgettable Lunchtime Concerts that brought together talented pupils from across the school.

These popular concerts offer a unique and supportive platform for Shiplake College musicians of all abilities to perform in front of their peers and staff. For some pupils, it is their first time experiencing the excitement of a live audience, while for others it’s another opportunity to showcase polished stagecraft and musical skill.

Hosted in the Lecture Theatre, with its dimmed lights and intimate setting, the concerts create the perfect environment for pupils to perform with confidence. Audiences this year enjoyed an inspiring variety of solo, ensemble, and band performances. It was also fantastic to see so many newcomers take to the stage—particularly those who might not usually perform in larger events such as the Winter Concert, Spring Concert, or Soloists’ Concert.

Music teacher and organiser, Mr Elliott, said:

'This year, we have been lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic range of performances from both seasoned musicians and first-time performers. It has been a joy to watch our musicians grow, develop their confidence, and perform in such a warm and encouraging environment, created by the students who come along to listen. We’re already looking forward to next year’s series!'

Well done to all the pupils who performed in the seven Lunchtime Concerts at Shiplake College during the 2024–2025 academic year—your talent and dedication continue to make our school music community thrive.
