At the start of the month, on Friday 7 November, we were treated to a special concert where we enjoyed the exceptional talents of the College's musicians.

The Soloists' Concert is a significant milestone in the journey of an advanced musician. Our talented young performers presented a diverse selection of music, ranging from classical, romantic, and impressionist pieces to jazz and musical theatre songs, including both well-known and lesser-known works. The evening featured pupils from across the College, from Year 7 to Year 13, and it was brilliant to experience such a wide array of performances, including piano, clarinet, and trumpet solos, as well as many impressive vocal pieces.

What was also lovely about the event is that for our younger pupils, they had the chance to see where they could be in a few years!

Speaking of the concert, Director of Music Mrs Haynes said:

‘The performers were excited to share their chosen pieces with their family, friends, and teachers, so thank you for joining us and supporting them on the night.

An essential part of preparing any soloist concert or recital is the role of the accompanist. On behalf of all the singers and instrumentalists, I would like to sincerely thank Mrs Rapple Moore, Mrs Hughes, and Mrs Auty for their expert accompaniment, as well as our dedicated team of Visiting Music Teachers for their work in preparing the students for this performance.’
