Last week, our Year 7 girls took part in a Girls on Board skills session, with a focus on reflection and confidence within friendships and social dynamics.
As a proud Girls on Board member school, Shiplake College continues to embed this evidence‑based approach within school life, supporting pupils as they develop healthy, supportive friendships in line with the College’s individual, inclusive and inspirational values.
The session established key Girls on Board principles through discussion and visual prompts, encouraging pupils to reflect on the importance of friendships and feelings of belonging. Rather than offering fixed answers, the presentation created space for thoughtful conversation, allowing the girls to explore views in a supportive environment.
Leading the session, Mr Crisford reflected afterwards: “It was great to have a meaningful and reflective chat with the girls. They engaged really well and were open, thoughtful and positive throughout all the conversations.”
The Girls on Board approach empowers girls to understand friendship dynamics and make wise choices, reinforcing Shiplake College’s commitment to kindness, reflection and pupil wellbeing.
