The football and netball season came to a fitting close earlier in spring with a series of celebratory events recognising the commitment, achievements, and progress of pupils across all age groups. From sports dinners for our senior teams to award ceremonies for younger year groups, these occasions provided an opportunity to reflect on a successful year of competition, teamwork, and development in both football and netball.

A wide range of accolades were awarded, including:

  • Player of the Season – Selected by the coaching staff, this award recognised the individual who made an outstanding contribution to their team throughout the season. Their performances in both matches and training were exemplary, and they consistently acted as a role model for their peers.
  • Players’ Player of the Season – Voted for by teammates, this award celebrated the player who was felt to most deserve recognition for their effort, attitude, and contribution over the course of the season.
  • Most Improved Player – Awarded to a player who showed significant development in their football. Through a hardworking and receptive approach to training, they successfully translated their improvement into enhanced match performances.
  • Clubman of the Year – This award honoured a player whose passion for Shiplake football stood out. While not necessarily the top performer, they fully embraced all aspects of the programme, consistently demonstrating enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude.
  • Colours – Presented to players who made a significant impact within their respective ‘A’ teams, consistently displaying outstanding commitment, attitude, and performance throughout the season.
  • Senior Blazers – Awarded for exceptional achievement, contribution, and attitude across the season, as well as sustained involvement with the 1st XI over multiple years. These will be formally presented at the Prize Giving Ceremony at the end of the Summer Term.

Congratulations to the following players who received the awards listed below:
