On Tuesday 30 June, Sports Day returned in glorious fashion, bringing the whole College together for an afternoon of House spirit and outstanding athletic performances. From a fiercely contested tug-of-war to an impressive series of track and field events, pupils gave their all in pursuit of House points and personal success.
The day began with the traditional whole-school tug-of-war. Teams and supporters gathered on Skipwith Lawn, which played host to an epic tournament of strength, determination and teamwork. With pupils from across the College cheering on their teammates, House rivalries were on full display as competitors battled for supremacy. After a series of hard-fought contests, Orchard House emerged victorious giving themselves an early boost in the overall standings.
Following lunch, attention turned to the athletics programme on New Field. Pupils competed within their year groups across a range of events including the 100m, 200m, 800m, shot put, long jump and 4x100m relay. The atmosphere around the track and field areas was fantastic throughout the afternoon, with pupils proudly wearing House colours and supporting one another from start to finish.
This year's Sports Day proved to be one of the most successful on record, with an extraordinary number of new event records set across the track and field disciplines. Congratulations to the following pupils and teams who etched their names into the Sports Day record books:
