Towards the end of the Spring Term, Shiplake College was delighted to recognise pupils who have shown outstanding commitment to their Houses through the awarding of House Colours, alongside the introduction of new House ties and badges.

This term marked an exciting development in the House system, with the launch of updated House ties and badges designed to clearly recognise pupils’ contributions at different stages. Awards now include Junior House Colours, Half Colours and Full Colours, allowing pupils’ involvement, leadership and service to House life to be acknowledged progressively as they move through the College.

House Colours are presented to pupils who have consistently demonstrated loyalty, leadership and a strong contribution to House life. Whether through participation in House competitions, offering support to younger pupils, or setting a positive example in daily College life, these pupils embody the spirit and values that underpin our House system. Receiving House Colours is a significant honour and reflects not only individual effort, but also a willingness to contribute to the wider College community. The Spring Term saw excellent engagement across all Houses, with pupils showing enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork in both academic and co-curricular activities.
