Back in October, the Art Department launched this year’s House Postcard Competition, inviting pupils from across the College to design an original postcard artwork representing their house. After an enthusiastic response and months of creative work, we are delighted to announce the winners.
Towards the end of last term, three of our governors joined us to judge all 224 entries - an experience they described as “one of the best things they do at the College”. Thank you to Marsha Carey-Elms OBE, Rose Grimond and Richard Lester who viewed all the anonymised postcards, arranged within their respective houses and year groups.
Head of Art Miss Keli Jiggens commented on the engagement shown by the school community – “It was a super challenging job of judging all 224 entries! More than 35% (= 1/3) of each house took part! Pleasing to see such community spirit in support of their house.” The competition showcased an impressive level of community spirit, talent, and house pride.
A full exhibition of all entries is now on display in the Great Hall. During the end of term assembly, the winners and runners-up from each house were celebrated, along with the overall winning house and the staff category awards. Pupils were invited to the front to shake the Headmaster’s hand, and prize-winners collected their awards from Miss Jiggens
